‘Though she be but little, she is fierce!’
– Helena, A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Eira is our youngest. She is 2 years old, and was born at 1.22am on the 20th December 2020.
Saying she is a real character, is a little of an understatement! 🤣

In every way, she truly was our lockdown baby. Conceived just after the first lockdown began, born just as the UK went into the Christmas lockdown.

I’d had a long held dream, of a baby born at Christmas, at home, next to the the dim lights of the Christmas Tree while the other children slept. This was exactly how she was born.
I’d been in labour for a few hours, and while it was definitely intense, it was fairly erratic. This meant by the time we did call the midwives, it was a little too late, and they didn’t make it in time! This didn’t phase me though, it was as close to the perfect birth as I could have hoped for.

Eira Clementine Beaumont was born in a birth pool, with just Dean at my side, by the glow of the log burner & twinkly lights of the Christmas tree.
We called her Eira – Welsh for snow. It was a name I’d wanted to use for a while, but which didn’t suit our summer born babies!

There are two ways of pronouncing it – ‘eye-ra’ or, as we opted for, ‘ay-ra’.

Eira is now 2 years old. She has had an excellent command of language since she was about 14 months – her vocabulary & understanding is just incredible sometimes.
One of her favourite phrases is ‘Don’t worry Mama!’ Usually just before she attempts something I definitely WILL worry about! She is fiercely independent and wants to do all the things her older siblings do.
She is incredibly loving, and often gives big hugs, while saying ‘I got you’ ❤️
She loves Peter Rabbit, imaginary play, being outside, eating everything in sight, and sitting under blanket with a cup of tea.
